Researchers from the the University of Michigan have created a list of foods that create the greatest addiction. The study had 384 participants aged between 18 and 23 years. They used the Yale scale for the addiction that the food creates.
Participants were given pictures of food and were asked what type of food provoked them addictive problems (they could not stop eating, ate more than they proposed, gave up other activities for that of kind food, etc.).
The study showed that of the 35 foods, the ones that had been processed and contain a high amount of fat or a high glycemic rate were associated with food addiction. Healthy foods were at the end of the list.
Researchers have made a top 20 of the most dangerous food in terms of addiction. The first place was pizza, one of the most beloved dishes in the world.
